Drake is one of the biggest artists with a huge following across the globe so what brands he chooses to partner with affects a lot of people — and livelihoods.
It’s been rumored for months now that Drake will be leaving longtime partner Jordan Brand for Adidas. The conversation was brought to the forefront particularly after Pusha T named his diss song towards Drake, ‘The Story of Adidon‘. Adidon was supposedly the name of the upcoming collection Drake was launching with Adidas but we never got an official confirmation on it.
It now looks like the Toronto superstar is putting all speculation to rest by hinting that he’s sticking with Nike and ditching Adidas. On Travis Scott’s song ‘Sicko Mode’ off his latest album Astroworld where he makes a guest appearance, Drake raps, “Jesus Christ, checks over stripes / That’s what I like, that’s what we like.” As we all know, Nike’s iconic logo is a checkmark whereas Adidas is known for its three stripes and Drake has chosen the former as his home.
Drake recently shared a look at OVO’s upcoming basketball kit with Nike:
Also, on the night of Scorpion‘s release, he was spotted wearing a Nike sweatsuit jacket:
