It’s go time for Missy Elliott it seems. It has been seven years since she released her last studio album The Cookbook in 2005 but she is all set for a comeback with her 7th album, tentatively titled Block Party. Timbaland announced last evening that Missy’s new singles ‘9th Inning’ and ‘Triple Threat’ will be released on the Labor Day weekend.
These are the same two songs which the duo debuted in NYC back in April. Missy also tweeted later saying “don’t expect the ass shake music we always do. Time 2 go more futuristic“. We definitely can not wait.

UPDATE: The singles have a definite release date of September 10th now. Atlantic Records has a countdown page on Missy’s website. We are excited about this.
