We hope y’all are enjoying a pleasant weekend. It’s Saturday so we are back at it again with a brand new Saturday Spotlight for you. We are truly amazed at the amount of submissions we continue to get on a weekly basis and want to thank everybody for their interest and feedback. After going through over 50 submissions in the past week, we had a tough decision to make. Ultimately, we went with two artists we feel have both great talent and promise. We present to you, Slink Proper and Spree Wilson.
Previous: Aquil + Sirah
This young Minnesota artist combines a rapid flow with some intelligent lyrics to equal some really hot music. His new project The Mixtape hit iTunes this summer and has some bangers on it. Above is his first visual off the project which has a unique concept. You can check the second offering here and some of his previous material here. Look out for this artist in the future because he’s got some serious potential.
The 26-year old producer/emcee not only has a unique sound, but also a wide range of musical abilities. He can rap, sing, produce, write, and above all, create really good music. Some of his recent work includes writing the hook on G.O.O.D. Music’s ‘Sin City’ off the Cruel Summer album. Here’s his newest single which was produced by The Flush (producers of Big Boi’s new single ‘Mama Told Me‘), off their upcoming joint EP Life In Technicolor. It will remind you of the classic ATL sound. Also be sure to check out Spree’s previous work here.
