It’s official. Jay-Z’s new album Magna Carta Holy Grail is now certified platinum by the RIAA, following the rule change which earlier stated that an album can become eligible for certification only 30 days after its release date. Jay-Z becomes the first artist in the recording history to have a platinum album on the day of his release!
If you missed it earlier, he is also expected to top Billboard 200 next week as the LP is projected to sell 350-400k in the first week at retail. This will earn him his 13th #1 album, most for any solo act and second only to The Beatles who have 19.
