Jay-Z’s reign continues as the Rap Superstar scores yet another number 1 album with Magna Carta Holy Grail which sold 528k copies in its first week. That number is for Billboard and Soundscan purposes only (Official number to be unveiled tomorrow) as RIAA has already certified it as a Platinum album, taking into consideration the 1 million bulk copies bought by Samsung from Jay-Z. For RIAA, the first week sales will be in excess of 1.5 million.
This marks Hov’s 13th #1 album, which is highest for any solo act in Billboard’s 57 year history. He’s now only second to The Beatles who have 19. Bow down.
