Did the controversial Billboard article end up putting Future off from Drake’s upcoming Would You Like A Tour?
It appears so, according to Page Six. Earlier this month, Future did an interview with Billboard magazine where he was quite critical of Drake’s latest album Nothing Was The Same. During the chat, Future commented,
“Honest” isn’t only about love, but “about showing emotion,” which Future insists will win “Drake made an album that is full of hits but it doesn’t grab you. They’re not possessive; they don’t make you feel the way I do. I want to make you want to fall in love,” Future says.
Now it seems like Future has been removed from the 39-city schedule kicking off Friday in Pittsburgh since Drake wasn’t too pleased with the statements. Following the publishing of article, Future and his reps claimed that he was misquoted in the interview but Billboard stood by its stance. Future is now reportedly set to file a lawsuit this week against Drake amounting to about $1.5 million since he was due to earn about $40,000 per gig, on the tour.
UPDATE: Is Jhene Aiko is the replacement for Future? A recent Instagramed photo with the caption “Would You Like A Tour? #NWTS” by her hints at the same.
UPDATE 2: Hot 107.9’s Beestroh is now reporting that Future is back on Drake’s tour.
UPDATE 3: Future confirms himself that he ain’t going anywhere (hit the jump).
UPDATE 4: On top of his tweet earlier, Future released an official statement to Vibe. It can be found after the jump as well.
