Justin Timberlake is set to score his second number 1 album of the year with The 20/20 Experience Part 2 when the charts are released next week. Industry sources project that the album will sell around 325k copies at the end of the retail cycle which will be good enough to top the charts.
The number for the album which was released on a Monday instead of the usual Tuesday is considerably lower than the first week tally of the first 20/20 which bowed at #1 on Billboard 200 in March with 968k units. Part of the reason is probably that the lead single ‘Take Back the Night’ has only peaked at #29 on the Billboard Hot 100 and there was without a doubt, less hype for this LP in comparison to his big comeback in March.
UPDATE: According to HDD, JT is headed towards a total which looks like 350-375k. Meanwhile Nelly’s 7th album M.O. is only projected to sell 12-15k copies. A shocking number by any standard.
