Remy Ma is finally home after serving a 6 year sentence. She was released from Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women in New York, around 8 am on Thursday morning, reports Hot 97. Her manager Nelson along with husband Papoose and some other friends were there to receive her.
Although the rapper was sentenced to eight years in prison on assault charges back in 2008, she was able to serve a lesser sentence. Welcome home.
UPDATE: Bad news for Remy’s family and supporters. Revolt is reporting that Remy’s release has been delayed due to a “disciplinary problem” that occurred on July 21. An official at Bedford Hills Correctional facility has confirmed that the rapper would have to wait until the incident is responded. She doesn’t have an exact date for release yet.
UPDATE 2: Miss Info reports that Remy has finally been released from prison at 1 pm today (August 1st). Only her husband, Papoose, went to pick her up to avoid any other further complications.
