Kendrick Lamar has been announced as the headliner of the 2015 Hot 97 Summer Jam and he visited the city for a few hours to be part of the big announcement.
He also chatted with Ebro, Peter Rosenberg and Laura Sylez about a few topics like title of his #1 sophomore album To Pimp A Butterfly, respect he gets in New York city, the 2Pac interview on ‘Mortal Man’, the positive reaction from fans and critics for the album, almost having Prince on the album (what!), upcoming video for his single ‘King Kunta’, why the album is not a “classic” yet, having George Clinton around for the making of the album, the effect that society had on the album, albums that shaped his mind, inspiration for ‘u’, his statement about black people not respecting themselves, his celebrity status and much more.
He also said that the joint album with J.Cole is still a good possibility.
