Kendrick Lamar made a trip to the UK recently where he did some press as well. In a detailed interview with The Guardian, the multi platinum rapper spoke on a lot of stuff including his insecurities, why he made a politically charged album like To Pimp A Butterfly, his weaknesses, growing up in Compton, racism, why he started rapping and even a bit about his next, yet untitled album.
Although TPAB is still getting praise from all sections, Kendrick is already plotting his next move. He mentions that he knows exactly what he will be rapping about on his third major label album:
“I know exactly what I want to say next,” he says with a teasing smile, still playing with his gum. “Everything is going to make sense – not only to myself but to anybody who wants to understand life and music. Everything will make a little more sense.”
What do our readers think will be the concept of the album? Any guesses?
