UPDATE 2 (January 16): It’s official. Looks like the negotiations are over and Ross has finally decided to sign with Epic Records. Earlier today, the label made the announcement on Twitter with a picture of Rick Ross with CEO L.A. Reid and President Sylvia Rhone.

UPDATE: Rick Ross’ single ‘Foreclosures’ has been released on iTunes under “Def Jam Recordings” so it appears he’s still signed to the label.
Rick Ross’ label situation has been speculated for a while now. It gained more attention when the MMG boss decided to release two albums in the same year in 2014 — Mastermind and Hood Billionaire.
Many say The Bawse did it to quickly fulfill his contract with Def Jam with whom he has released 7 albums so far. In recent times, Ross has dropped a full mixtape, Black Dollar as well as multiple other freebies like the latest one, ‘Babies Cry‘. None of these seemed to have any involvement from Def Jam.
But it looks like he may have taken the next step in his career by signing with Epic Records. The rapper posted a photo earlier today on his Twitter with the caption #EPICRECORDS where he can be seen posing with Head of Urban A&R at Epic Records, Breyon Prescott and chairman and CEO of the label, L.A. Reid.
Let’s see if we can get a confirmation soon.
