Jay Z has joined forces with The New York Times for a new animated short film about the war on drugs.
Hov narrates the story about the start of the crack era in the 70s and then later in the 8os when it really affected people of color.
“The NYPD raided our Brooklyn neighborhoods while Manhattan bankers openly used coke without impunity.”
Jay then gets to today’s marijuana market and speaks of how Colorado has flourished but states like Louisiana still have strict sentences related to the crimes. Watch it below.
