President Obama Dances To Drake ‘Hotline Bling’ At White House Musical Event (Video)

President Barack Obama is known to have a lot of friends in the music industry, which includes both singers and rappers.

Last night, he and the first lady celebrated another musical night at the White House, a tradition they have followed for eight years. The event, which coincided with BET’s “Love and Happiness” show, ended Friday night and celebrated all kinds of music from Hip-Hop & R&B to Classic, Country, blues, Latin and Jazz.

The show featured performances by Usher, The Roots, Janelle Monae, Michelle Williams and many others. There was also a sort of after party where the attendees celebrated with a little dance. The president did not leave himself behind as he shook a leg or two to Drake’s hit ‘Hotline Bling’, a video of which can be watched below.

“We’ve had Bob Dylan and we’ve had Jennifer Hudson. Gloria Estefan and Los Lobos. Aretha, Patti, Smokey,” Obama said to open the show. “I’ve had Paul McCartney singing ‘Michelle’ to Michelle and Stevie singing ‘Happy Birthday.'”

“We’ve had Buddy Guy and Mick Jagger getting me to sing ‘Sweet Home Chicago,'” he continued. “So this has been one of our favorite traditions, and it’s with a little bit of bittersweetness that this is our final musical evening as president and first lady.”

Obama also mentioned that this one was of the perks he will the most as a President, jokingly saying: “You know, if you can just call up Usher and say, ‘Hey, come on over …'”
