Previous story:

Last week, Q-Tip posted a note on Facebook where he announced that a new A Tribe called Quest album will be released on November 11th.

Now in an interview with the New York Times, Q-Tip and Jarobi White have revealed the title of the album — We Got It From Here, Thank You for Your Service. They have also teased some of the collaborations we will get to hear on the project, which includes André 3000, Kendrick Lamar, Jack White, Elton John and Busta Rhymes. The album will have contributions from all four members of the group. Earlier, Tip had also mentioned that Consequence was a part of the album.

Most of the recording was done before Phife Dawg passed away in March this year so no old recordings will be featured, which is great news for the fans.

Busta Rhymes mentioned that Q-Tip had one major rule for the album: that everyone has to come in person to his studio in New Jersey to record their part. “If you wrote your rhyme somewhere else, you still had to come back and lay your verse in Q-Tip’s house. So we pretty much did every song together. Everybody wrote his stuff in front of everybody. Everybody spat their rhymes in front of each other. We were throwing ideas around together.”
