UPDATE: Ross and Rather You Than Me debut at #2 behind Drake and More Life this week as expected. The album’s final numbers are 100,081 sales plus streaming and 68,520 pure sales.
Previous story:
Rick Ross has been in the news lately for his new album Rather You Than Me and specifically the song ‘Idols Become Rivals‘ which takes shots at his one time good friend, Birdman.
But apart from that, Rozay’s 9th studio album has been receiving positive reviews from critics. This is his first release under Epic Records. HDD is projecting that Rather You Than Me is on course to move 85-95k copies in the first week with 40-50k of that coming through pure sales.
This is a major bump from the numbers that his last effort Black Market managed to put up (65k). The MMG rapper hardly promoted the new album but the general consensus about the reputation of it on social media seems to have really helped him achieve this. Ross will still fall short of the number 1 spot as that is most likely expected to be occupied by Drake’s More Life.
