UPDATE (May 31): The weapons charge has been dropped but Rich Homie has been booked for felony possession of drugs with intent to distribute, according to the arrest report obtained by TMZ. The drug in question was weed and in the state of Georgia, the amount you are in possession of doesn’t determine whether you are hit with a felony. The rapper is being held in jail until Friday’s bond hearing. If convicted, he will face up to 30 years in prison.
Previous story (May 29):
As Rich Homie Quan starts to properly plan his comeback, he has landed in fresh trouble.
The Atlanta rapper was on the way to perform at Club Liquids in Wadley, GA on Saturday night (May 27) when he was stopped at a Police checkpoint on suspicion of carrying a stolen gun and drugs, reports TMZ. The cops are claiming that the drugs are ecstasy and weed. If that is true, it could mean big problems for the rapper.
RHQ is currently being held in Jefferson County Jail but has not been formally charged yet. Police there can detain a person without charging them for up to 48 hours. Let’s hope he comes out clean.
