Kendrick Lamar keeps achieving the unbelievable as his career progresses on. The Compton rapper’s latest album DAMN. (read our review here) has now been certified double platinum by the RIAA for moving in excess of 2 million units.
The album was released in April to both commercial success and critical acclaim. It moved 603k copies in its very first week. “These murals forever belong to my fans. You’ve always taken my words above and beyond. Around the world and back again. With trust. I am forever grateful,” wrote K.Dot on his Instagram while sharing a photo with his plaque.
DAMN. is TDE rapper’s first double platinum album and he has also become the first and only artist to be certified double platinum in 2017.
