One of the biggest surprise hits of this year has been Logic’s song ‘1-800-273-8255’ featuring Alessia Cara and Khalid. The song, which is named after the phone number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, is up to number 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week and is still showing signs of further rising on the chart.
After some delay, the Def Jam rapper has finally unveiled the official video for the heartfelt but catchy song as an Apple Music exclusive. You can watch the very fitting video on this link if you have a subscription. The video tracks the story of a disgruntled young man who has to go through difficult times being a gay person. After considering suicide at one point, he decides to call the helpline number which ends up saving his life.
‘1-800-273-8255’ appeared on Logic’s third studio album Everybody which released in May via Visionary Music Group/Def Jam Records. It debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 after moving over 196k copies in the first week.
UPDATE: Video also on YouTube now.
