UPDATE: Somehow we still haven’t gotten a CDQ full version of this but there’s now been a CDQ snippet released. Progress, we guess. Credit to the guys at KTT. Skip to 36:18. Let’s hope we get this in full soon.

The 2017 Red Bull Culture Clash event took place in the Atlanta last night and as expected, was full of surprises and high energy. Popcaan’s Unruly crew ended up taking the crown, even though the leader himself was unable to make it to the event due to his travel documents not getting processed in time. They also dropped a big one by playing a new “dub” version of Drake’s ‘Blem’ with different lyrics.

Unruly was fighting against Disturbing London, featuring Tinie Tempah, Enjoy Life ft. Wondagurl; and the EarDrummers crew. Mike WiLL Made-It’s EarDrummers Crew fought hard, bringing out a slew of special guests including Pusha T, Ludacris and Junior Reid. Unruly brought out Jermaine Dupri while Disturbing London invited Sonny Digital to bless the crowd.

Just like how last time Drake gave Mixpak the premiere of the ‘One Dance’ dub, the Toronto superstar chose the Unruly crew as the recipients of the ‘Blem’ dub this time. You can hear a preview of the new version below. The original song was a fan favorite off Drizzy’s latest project More Life, which came out in March this year.
Red Bull Culture Clash is a competition drawing its inspiration from traditional Jamaican sound clashes. The four crews mentioned above were pitted against one another at Atlanta’s 787 Windsor venue. Each crew occupied its own stage, and over four rounds they compete for the crowd approval, who decide a winner based on a decibel meter.
