J. Cole was the headliner at day 1 of the Made in America festival 2017 in Philadelphia at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and he lived up to that honor. It was live streamed exclusively by TIDAL to fans all around the world.
As he has been doing throughout his 4 Your Eyez Only tour in America, the Dreamville boss turned up in a prison jumpsuit for his set. He kick started it by appearing from inside a prison in an orange prison jumpsuit and shackled in chains handled by actors dressed as police officers.
Cole kept his set quite intense, spitting tracks from throughout his catalog as the rain came down heavily for the first at least half an hour. The rapper also paused his set in between to yet again narrate the whole story behind his song ‘Neighbors’ inspired by a real life incident when one of Jermaineās neighbors reported to the police that him and his homies were illegally growing weed and selling drugs out of his house in North Carolina. The house was then raided by a special SWAT team which was caught by the CCTV cameras installed at his house. It was later made into a music video for the song.
You can watch J. Cole’s full set of 1 hour 15 minutes below (thanks to mwp).
