Safaree’s altercation with Meek Mill’s crew at the BET Awards this June made a lot of headlines. Most people didn’t believe Safaree when he initially claimed that Meek’s men jumped him but then TMZ was able to grab video evidence of the moment when it happened.

The altercation apparently happened at DJ Khaled’s pre-BET Awards party at a venue in West Hollywood. Safaree hasn’t discussed the matter in detail till now but on today’s episode of Complex’s Everyday Struggle show, Nicki’s ex boyfriend explained the exact circumstances under which the incident took place and why he thinks it happened. SB says he learned his lesson and now moves with a lot more caution, especially after shifting to New York recently.
Safaree also spoke on his relationship with Nicki Minaj, addressing the ghostwriter claims. He didn’t specify what all exactly he wrote or helped the multi platinum rapper with, but said that he hasn’t got his due from the The Pinkprint album. He also expressed his thoughts on Cardi B giving competition to Nicki, saying Nicki is definitely shook. Watch the full interview below.
