Eminem has had a nice promo run around the release of Revival which is extra refreshing because we rarely get to hear from him outside of an album cycle. A lot of people, including us, have been pleasantly surprised to hear that he’s not as disconnected from the public as it would sometimes seem.
Today he covers Complex Magazine. In the interview, he talks about looking at JAY-Z’s 4:44 differently to everyone, having some witty lines ready for Donald Trump if he ever responded to him, Vince Staples’ criticism, getting better at rapping but not necessarily making music and more.

The BET Hip-Hop Awards freestyle started a conversation between two groups of people who don’t want to have a conversation. Some black people were like, “Oh, this is great. Finally, a fairly very popular white artist has said what we’ve been asking them to say for a long time,” and then there are white people in the country who were like, “This is bullshit.”
I will say this, I don’t want little Johnny in fucking Alabama or wherever, bumping my shit in his fucking Klan hood. You know what I’m saying? I think that that’s where I’m trying to make myself clear, is in that sense.
