DMX can’t seem to stay out of trouble. The legendary rapper was taken into custody in a Manhattan court Tuesday morning for failing drug tests which was a violation of his probation terms.
The rapper has been on probation in his Tax evasion case. He had struck a plea deal in one of the counts in the case back in November and was facing 5 years in prison, down from the original 40 years. The sentencing was scheduled for March 29 this year. DMX was ordered to be sent to jail after he tested positive for opiates, cocaine and oxycodone.
DMX was supposed to be completing rehab while he was out on bail. The court had allowed the rapper to travel for performances as of late. DMX’s attorney Murray Richman told TMZ: “I’m saddened and disappointed. We’ll have to deal with it accordingly.” He added that they will be trying to get X back into a rehab program.
