SZA gave an excellent album in ctrl last year which still gets spins in our playlists on the regular. But the TDE singer has some bad news to tell. She has revealed that the follow up album she’s working on currently will be her last.
In an interview with Flaunt magazine, SZA says she will hang it up after her next LP. “I’m still miserable,” she says. “My world got so much smaller so fast. I have so much to write about. I feel like I’m in a cage. I’m making the best album of my life for this next album and I know that… because it’s going to be my last album.”
It’s hard to believe SZA wants to quit this early and we are not sure if she was just joking in the interview or actually serious about it. Her debut album received five Grammy nominations — best new artist, best R&B song, best urban contemporary album, best rap/sung performance, and best R&B performance but she did not win any award at the ceremony. Let’s hope she changes her mind because she’s a special artist.
