Earlier this year, it was teased that Black Thought was in the studio creating an EP with 9th Wonder.
The veteran artists have formally made the announcement today that the project titled Streams of Thought Vol. 1 will be released on June 1st, the same day that Kanye West unveils his long awaited album. It will be produced entirely by 9th Wonder and his Soul Council production team.

The Roots co-founder, Thought has never released a solo project before but the demand from fans has always been there because of his skill set as an emcee. Last December, Black Thought killed a freestyle on the Funk Flex show which drew praise from all quarters.
