Some new details have emerged in the case of XXXTentacion’s murder today. Police have named a new person of interest in the rapper’s murder.
One suspect named Dedrick Williams, has already been charged with first-degree murder after he was arrested last week. Now the Broward County Sheriff’s Office has named another person of interest: 22-year-old Robert Allen, as local news station WPLG reports. Surveillance video showed Allen outside the RIVA Motorcycle store in Deerfield Beach, Florida on June 18 shortly before X, whose real name was Jahseh Onfroy, was gunned down.
“Right now, they are hoping that he will come in and talk to them and share what he knows,” BSO spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright said. According to the report, X arrived at the motorcycle shop with a friend at 3:30 p.m. About two minutes later, the alleged killers arrived in a dark-colored SUV and walked past the rapper to purchase face masks and left shortly after.
Authorities said the gunmen waited outside the store for nearly 10 minutes before using their SUV to block the path of the exiting rapper, to carry out the crime while wearing the face masks they purchased. The person of interest Robert Allen, has a prior arrest history in Broward County, including one in 2016 when he was arrested on 22 counts of ID fraud. He was on probation for that crime when XXX was killed. Watch a video report on the update below.
On Sunday, XXX’s song ‘SAD!’ reached the number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
