Do you always wonder how J. Cole would sound on The Neptunes production?
Well, DJ Critical Hype is back with another blend tape, this time putting Cole raps over hot instrumentals from the celebrated producers. Remember, the Dreamville boss has never worked properly with Pharrell and Chad Hugo. The project has even got a blessing from Dreamille. The blend master reveals in an interview with Genius that Dreamville president Ibrahim Hamad provided him with unreleased Acappella raps from Cole.
“I thought it would be nice to give a different perspective of Cole’s style and flows over different production,” the Canadian DJ said about his motivation for matching Cole and the Neptunes. “Cole was pictured in the studio with Pharrell at the beginning of his career. They were supposed to work on something. I don’t know why it never came to fruition, but I thought it would be dope to hear Cole over some classic Neptunes beats.”
The 30 song project features rap vocals from J. Cole lifted from his early mixtapes as well as platinum selling studio albums. You can stream it via AudioMack below.
