Welcome back to another edition of the Saturday Spotlight series. Each week we review submissions from all over the globe, picking the best out of the batch to highlight at the end of the week. Talent is limitless, and with nearly 30 weeks in, we’ve seen a very impressive next crop of artists ready to make a mark in the music world.
Whether you’re a singer, a rapper, or a producer, all upcoming artists can submit music to us for Saturday Spotlight on this link.
Aint Afraid
Ain’t Afraid, the duo composed of twin sisters from Detroit — Straingth & Wizdumb, are here to spread positive vibes and messages through their music. Their single, “Rover and Benz” is an anthem promoting the joys of life over luxurious items such as foreign cars. Their vocals are a throwback to the early 00s r&b, and the chemistry between the two black Muslim sisters is impeccable. They’re an extension of one another. When you’re happy with yourself, your friends, and everything you have already — who needs a Benz anyways? Check out their single below:
Daezoldyck
Daezoldyck is breaking hearts and singing songs for the Brooklyn streets. On his latest single, “Better Days” off of his Heartbreak Kid EP, Dae’s cadence fits right in with the current Brooklyn scene with Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow. The melodies are catchy enough to stick to the ribs, and enough passion to catch the feels. On the track, Dae looks for the fixing solution for a relationship that’s broken.
