Welcome back to another edition of Saturday Spotlight. Each week we review submissions from all over the globe, picking the best out of the batch to highlight at the end of the week. If you’re an aspiring rapper, a producer wanting to create a buzz, or a singer looking to expose their talent, the Saturday Spotlight series is dedicated to discovering the next star.
Whether it’s your latest single or a new beat you made, all upcoming artists can submit music to us for Saturday Spotlight on this link.
O Racks
O Racks brings Midwest flare to the east coast. The Long Island rapper channels the thumping rhythmic bass lines and the menacing piano medleys from Detroit—a scene ready to bust from the seams. O Racks raps without remorse, coldly delivering lines in a searing deadpan. On “I’m That Type” featuring appearances from Rhoco Benji, and Zeeko; he brings the same charisma that’s as captivating as the production he’s rapping on. Check out his single below:
Ne7hew
Detroit’s influence this week is prevalent. Ne7hew is cold and calculated, and on “Over Night,” he solidifies the realness in his raps. He delivers his verses devoid of life, as if he’s seen the worst the World has to offer. Through the signature Detroit tempo in the production, Ne7phew can make a club banger feel like a spine-chilling reality. Check out the single below:
