Earlier this year, Mass Appeal and Showtime announced their #HipHop50 partnership which will see the pair release a multitude of content like podcasts, series and digital shorts about pivotal names in Hip-Hop. Today, they reveal some big news.
Mass Appeal have unveiled The Hip-Hop 50 Soundtrack, which is going to be made up of a ten-part EP. To release an EP each, they’ve tapped some of the biggest and best producers in Hip-Hop history. DJ Premier, Hit-Boy, Mike WiLL Made-It, Swizz Beatz, No I.D., DJ Mustard, The-Dream and more make up the list of names.
Each producer has been assigned a sort of theme, the full extent of which you can check out below. Preemo is “Early Days”, Mustard is “West Coast”, Hit-Boy is “Lyricism” etc. All of the EPs will be five tracks and the first one will drop in the first quarter of next year. They’ll drop quarterly. The final EP will be fan curated, with the people voting for who will be part of the EP.
