Brooklyn drill rapper 22Gz was arrested after landing at John F. Kennedy airport on Sunday morning.
The rapper has been arrested on attempted murder charges in connection to a March shooting, police said and NY Post reports. The rapper, whose real name is Jeffrey Mark Alexander, faces charges for a shooting early morning on March 6 inside a Marine Park, Brooklyn party hall where a 31-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his left foot, the NYPD said.
22Gz was in Atlanta since the shooting happened. Police say one of the victims identified 22Gz as the shooter and provided officers with a detailed description of the rapper, reports TMZ.
The injuries on the victims are not considered to be serious. 22Gz was also charged with second-degree assault, two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment, police said. He was arraigned in Brooklyn Supreme Court Monday night and his bail was set at $500,000.
In 2017, he spent 5 months in jail after being accused of killing a man in Miami Beach over a parking spot. The charges were later dropped.
