Welcome back to another edition of Saturday Spotlight. Each week we review submissions from all over the globe, picking the best out of the batch to highlight at the end of the week. If you’re an aspiring rapper, a producer wanting to create a buzz, or a singer looking to expose their talent, Saturday Spotlight is dedicated to discovering the next star. SHAH

SHAH is an artist whose voice, and lyrics, are sugar coated with honesty — the soft and kind type of honesty that makes you find peace with the truth. The Kansas City born singer songwriter based out of Los Angeles mirrors this honesty and vulnerability with their latest single, ‘Honest’. In a stunning display of skilled vocal runs, harmonies, and melodies reminiscent of classic 90s RnB, ‘Honest’ shows the artist speaking to a love interest with genuine love and care.

BeMyFiasco

Hailing from Dallas, Texas, singer-songwriter BeMyFiasco is an artist to watch. Having collaborated with the likes of Robert Glasper and Erykah Badu, BeMyFiasco is a rising talent whose vocals and lyricism stand out amongst a sea of aspiring neo-soul singers.

BeMyFiasco’s latest single, ‘Outside The Lines’, enlists the talent of Little Brother, resulting in a soulful track that seamlessly sews hip-hop and neo-soul sonics into one flowing sound. The single is accompanied by a music video directed by husband and wife duo Office Romance (Andrew Klein and Effie Speridakos). In a stunning array of bright colours and retro aesthetics, the video is a visual study of the bright and beautiful qualities of love.
