Doja Cat released her anticipated new album Scarlet on Friday to a pretty positive response.
The album is led by the number 1 single ‘Paint The Town Red’ and features no guest appearances. It’s also quite rap heavy, something which is a departure from her earlier work. Today, we have the first week sales projections for it. HDD reports that the album will move 50-55k copies in the first week which will give it a top 10 debut on the charts next week.
The number is certainly lower than expected. In contrast, her last album Planet Her in 2021 debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 after moving 109k copies in the first week.
Lil Tecca’s latest project TEC is looking at 30-35k copies in the first 7 days.
