Rapper and academic, Lupe Fiasco, who in his free time can be seen slicing through objects mid-air with a katana, is back in the booth. Following strong on the success of last year’s Samurai album, tlhe rapper plans to drop the deluxe version of the album in August.
The Samurai deluxe cover features Lupe in Samurai attire, although this time, coloring has been reduced to a minimal. Instead, the red pops out like slashes, perfectly indicating the mood and tone of the project, especially Lupe’s razor sharp bars.
As part of the deluxe, Lupe has just released a track called ‘SOS’, which listeners will not find in the original album. The same cannot be said for ‘Samurai + Palaces,’ which had versions in the primary release.
The production on ‘SOS’ features a plucky upright bass opening section, that soon transcends into a mellow beat complimenting intricate rhyme schemes. Check out the full track below!
