Rapper Westside Gunn, known best for keeping the boom bap era alive and kicking via razor sharp bars, has just released his latest album.
The project, titled Heels Have Eyes 2, is a full length 12-track follow up to his EP Heels Have Eyes that dropped earlier this year, and boasts a runtime of 37 mins.
What can you expect aside from the famous Westside Gunn ad libs? A whole lot of experimentation. In fact, the album is being claimed as an ‘art class’ by the rapper himself, who has had a solid run this year with not just the EP, but also the Doechii spin off of ‘The Egypt.’
On Reddit, the artist also mentioned how he’s here to give fans real music and not fake beef — probably alluding to the rap showdown between Joey Bada$$ and the West Coast, which many saw as a battle exhibition.
Now, while this may be perceived in bad light, it’s important to remember that Westside Gunn has been one of the most consistent rappers in the game, someone who keeps the spirit of old school lyricism alive. What do you think?
