U.S. President Donald Trump is in hip hop news media yet again, and this time, it is for one of the most controversial reasons. According to TMZ reporting, it appears that Trump is considering the possibility of commuting Diddy’s sentence.
The information comes from an unnamed, high ranking individual from the White House, who (according to TMZ) revealed that Diddy may in fact be free in a week’s time. Apparently, some of the staff at White House has advised Trump on the demerits of such a commutation, only to meet with the realisation that Trump will do “what he wants.”
This decision could have significant impact on how issues of abuse are dealt with in the United States, and may even lower survivors’ morale. In many ways, Trump’s actions will have a direct effect on how such cases are handled and how perpetrators (especially influential and rich ones) are treated. What do you think?
