There seems to be a trend of rappers pivoting towards podcasting — from T.I. to Lil Yachty and even Drake, and now, to Lil Wayne. The rap icon has just joined forces with radio hall of famer Craig Carton to launch a new podcast!
The podcast comes out July 22nd for the first time, and is called ‘The Joint Venture Show.’ Of course, in typical Lil Wayne fashion, the title seems to be a double entendre; guess the master of punch lines cannot hold back from doing what he does best. Be it in his bars or in nomenclature for new ventures.
He confirms this too in his statement for the upcoming podcast by saying, “Ima light one up with the homie Craig and we gonna talk our shit about whatever the day brings. You never know who’s gonna pull up or where the conversation’s gonna go.” According to a press note, the show will focus on music, sports and pop culture by way of facilitating “blunt” conversations — you get the drift.
In terms of frequency, it will be a weekly release produced by Magilla Entertainment, and will be out on YouTube as well as all major podcasting platforms.
Each episode also promises to have a special guest aside from Wayne and Carton, which makes the concept all the more exciting. Aside from its July 22nd launch, there will also be an episode filmed in front of a live audience on July 19 at Fanatics Fest with Eli Manning, Amar’e Stoudemeire and Darrelle Revis as special guests. So, how hyped are you!?
