If you thought the latest RBT EP were the only three tracks you’d have the pleasure of receiving from Freddie Gibbs, think again. The rapper has gone a step ahead and released the deluxe version of his 2024 album, You Only Die 1nce.
That means 10 more tracks on top of the 12-track project that was already out and loved by fans. Although to be fair, the 10 tracks also contain the 3 tracks just recently released as part of the RBT EP alongside one interlude — but who’s counting!
After all, Freddie is an artist that is adept at crafting top tier raps with great longevity; ‘Pinata,’ is of course, a prime example of one such track (albeit not the only one) that has stuck around in the fan consciousness for a while now.
On the first listen, the project delivers beautifully, blending a mix of unconventional percussive elements, hints of disco & jazz, and Freddie’s deep vocals cutting clean through the mix. Every verse is a delicious delicacy; no wonder his projects with Alchemist were posh-food themed. Check out his latest experimentations in the booth below!
