Hello, HHNMers! It’s that time of week again where we present to you some more new talent that stood out to us this week. Saturday Spotlight today consists of MARTY & BERLIN…!, Krowns, AmazingMGM, Oy Boyz, Da$H and FiltheBOMMSHELTUH.
Remember: We take submissions for this series. Please see guidelines here.
MARTY & BERLIN…!
Despite what the name might suggest, MARTY & BERLIN…! is actually one person from Newport News, VA with two identities. A few days ago, he released a visual for his collaboration with Hoppesangen, ‘Whip…!’ and it’s worth checking out. The style is strange at first, reminiscent of Odd Future but both the visual and track are intriguing enough to induce interest.
Krowns
Next up is Krowns, a duo consisting of rappers Tev and Fri$co whose EP is called Wrappers. It’s the follow up effort to their mixtape from June, P.O.U.R. and accurately depicts their growth in that short period throughout its 7 songs. Stream the Jacksonville, Florida duo’s EP below.
AmazingMGM
When you’ve got “amazing” in your name, that’s a lot of pressure to impress people off the rip. AmazingMGM is from Miami and he links up with Rob Zoe for ‘Living Notorious’ which isn’t what we’re used to when we think of a typical Miami sound which is pretty refreshing. Do yourself a favour and take a listen below.
Oy Boyz
Bankroll Fresh had a little hit on his hand when he dropped ‘Hot Boy’, especially when Wayne jumped on it. Oy Boyz are back from a hiatus and link up with him for ‘Put It In Ya Face’, a cut from their OYMINATI tape which is hosted by DJ Scream. Listen to the song below and the full mixtape here.
Da$H
Just yesterday, Da$H surprised his fans with a new album, 17 More Minutes which he has been working tirelessly on in Los Angeles, just a month after Skrewface. The new LP is dedicated to his late mentor A$AP Yams and boasts production from RandomBlackDude (Earl Sweatshirt’s production alias). You can check it out below.
FiltheBOMMSHELTUH
Last but not least is Fayetteville rapper FiltheBOMMSHELTUH (formerly Filthe Ritch) who actually is one of J. Cole’s mentors, you might remember him from our J. Cole: The Untold Story feature back in June. He’s back with a vengeance on ‘Pandemonium’, a lyrical assault produced by his mentor Sean CONary. Check it out below.
