A previously unreleased interview of Frank Ocean has surfaced online. The interview isn’t that old as he is talking about the making of and inspiration behind his latest album Blonde. But the fact that he does video interviews so rarely makes this very interesting.
The clip first appeared on Twitter via the fan account TeamFrankDaily but the actual source of the video is still unknown. “I haven’t shied away from expectations,” Ocean says while sitting on a stool and talking in split screens. He continues, “I really try to use it as fuel because people have a positive association of what I do and what I make and they expect something that’s good. So, okay, how do you convert that into, I don’t know, just a better moment, a better song, a better album, a better presentation?”
Blonde, which was released in August 2016, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and Frank Ocean purposely didn’t submit it for any GRAMMY consideration.
