Joey Bada$$’ name is in the headlines right now for a funny story he tweeted about wanting to get off of a Logic tour a few years back and running with the story that his eyes were damaged from looking at a solar eclipse with his naked eye. He actually didn’t mean it as a slight to Logic, but that’s how people took it.
This week was supposed to be a big one for Joey because he was scheduled to release his 2000 album tonight. However, that’s no longer going to be happening.
The New York rapper took to Twitter to reveal that he’s having some issues with sample clearances. He says he doesn’t know when it’ll drop, but he hopes it’ll be within a couple of weeks. He said we should know by Monday. In the meantime, you can stream Chance The Rapper’s new single ‘The Highs & The Lows’ which features Joey here. Check out the series of tweets below.
Man I got some terrible news, my album won’t be coming out tonight due to sample clearance issues 🤬. Right now, it’s unclear how long I’ll have to postpone it but my hope is no more than 2 weeks. I wanted to have a new date before I told you guys but it’s out of my control 😞
