NBA Youngboy Acquitted of Federal Gun Charges in LA

NBA Youngboy has been acquitted of Federal gun charges by a jury in Los Angeles on Friday.

After closing arguments on the third and final day of the trial, the Baton Rouge rapper was mobbed by fans when he came out from the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building and United States Courthouse in Downtown L.A. A few videos surfaced of fans mobbing the rapper and him first embracing some but then running away to get into a car.

The acquittal in the case means that the rapper has been saved from years-long prison sentence, reports The Advocate. The charges stem from the rapper’s 2017 guilty plea to aggravated assault with a firearm in a 2016 nonfatal shooting in Baton Rouge.

NBA Youngboy is facing an upcoming trial over a similar charge in a Baton Rouge federal court so he is not free from all legal troubles yet. Cops reportedly found an FN .45 pistol and 12 rounds of ammunition after searching his vehicle, which they tied to the rapper and subsequently arrested him.

Earlier in the case, U.S. District Judge R. Gary Klausner prevented his lyrics from being used as evidence.
