GELO AKA LiAngelo Ball, the LA based rapper and professional basketball player who recently released the video for his power packed track, ‘Tweaker’, just got a remix in — and you wouldn’t guess who’s on it. With Lil Wayne on the feature, the rapper will be realising his long term dream of working with a pioneer who influenced his style. In fact, it was only a few days ago that GELO listed Wayne as one of his influences, on the podcast with Speedy Morman.
In the same podcast, GELO also spoke about a remix he had ready, for which he went and “got a legend” that was beeped out. Well, the secret is out the bag and the song releases midnight. According to GELO, he reached out to Def Jam, who were interested in making it happen. Speaking more on how he felt about the feature, GELO said it was like “hooping with Jordan” and that Wayne “pulled his weight” without a doubt. GELO, who hasn’t ever met Wayne in real life, further spoke about how he called the legend himself to compliment him for the same.
GELO recently signed a deal with Def Jam, which was one of the many labels that offered GELO a record deal. Since labels were in competition to offer him a deal, Gelo ended up bagging a good one — one that allows him to own his masters. He wasn’t shy when asked about it by Morman, and boasted about it deeming it the “best music deal” possible. Well, the song’s already a hit — what’s left is to see what flavor Wayne brings to the table; especially after having hinted at surprises before the Super Bowl event.
