This is becoming a norm now. After Bangladesh and Jim Jonsin, another producer on Lil Wayne’s multi platinum album Tha Carter III, Darius “Deezle” Harrison has taken Lil Wayne, Cash Money and Young Money to court over unpaid royalties.
Harrison filed the $20 million dollar lawsuit in March, 2011, claiming Lil Wayne, Young Money Records and Cash Money Records owe him unpaid royalties for the Grammy award winning track ‘Lollipop’ from Tha Carter III that he co-produced with Jim Jonsin. Apart from this, he has also filed a $2.5 million dollar lawsuit for the same reason against Lil Wayne over the hit single ‘Mrs. Officer’, again taken from Tha Carter III. Below is the official statement:
“After consultation with my team I have decided to make a statement as it relates to the litigation pending against Cash Money and Young Money. At this time I am owed a sufficient amount of money and will protect the rights afforded me by the State of New York. My team is of the opinion that the matter will be resolved in a timely fashion.”
