Drake’s power is real.
I mean, we already know that but the events that we see from time to time only reinforces how big he is as an artist. While fans are divided on the verdict over his use of a ghostwriter named Quentin Miller for writing his songs (listen to his reference tracks here), the consensus on the overall rap battle based on diss songs is clearly in favor of the Toronto kid.
Drizzy has been very calculative in his approach, from choosing the artwork for his ‘Back To Back‘ song, to avoiding saying anything on social media and living his raps by actually sending Charlamagne bottles of alcohol with a special note.
What’s more, our sources at radio tell us Drake (or his team) sent special radio edit version of ‘Back To Back’ diss song to radio stations and DJs all over the world. Combining that with the general popularity of the song on the internet, it is now being happily played by over 50 radio stations in the country and currently at #1 on the “taking off” section of Urban Radio for this week (basically meaning the most played new song of this week so far).
If the song continues to be played by radio, it will probably end up charting on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart next week. And if he does by any chance decide to release it on iTunes, it can go anywhere from there.
Meek has some serious work to do now.
UPDATE: And just like that, the single is now available on iTunes. Also available are ‘Hotline Bling‘, ‘Right Hand‘ and ‘Charged Up‘.
