Post Malone & 21 Savage Break Apple Music’s Streaming Record with ‘Rockstar’

Post Malone is becoming a big force to reckon with. The singer-rapper’s debut album Stoney went platinum and he’s now prepping the release of his sophomore project Beerbongs & Bentleys. It is set to drop later this year.

His first single ‘Rockstar‘ featuring 21 Savage which arrived 10 days ago, has made a huge impact already. The song was well received by fans but it ended up doing bigger numbers than most expected in the first week, debuting at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It is trailing only Cardi B’s massive song ‘Bodak Yellow’ at the moment which rose 2-1 this week.

‘Rockstar’s huge debut was mainly helped by its popularity on Apple Music where he broke the record for first week streaming figures. The song was streamed 25 million times globally on the service, shattering the earlier record held by DJ Khaled’s star-studded single ‘I’m the One’.

In related news, Posty had a failed stage dive on Sunday during his tour stop in St. Louis. When he attempted to dive, the crowd did not catch him, resulting in a bad fall on the ground for the White Iverson. Fortunately, he did not receive any serious injuries. Watch a clip of it below.
