Kanye West has been the talk of town ever since his return to Twitter after a hiatus.
But on Wednesday, it all hit the roof when the rapper-producer openly endorsed Donald Trump, calling him his “brother” and showing off his autographed “Make America Great Again” hat. Several celebrities have already reacted to his tweet-storm, including J. Cole who sent out a simple yet meaningful tweet about his thoughts on the situation.
Over the last week, the rapper and producer has come back to Twitter and social media in a huge way and showed his love and support for President Donald Trump and championing “free thinking.”
You don't have to agree with trump but the mob can't make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone. I don't agree with everything anyone does. That's what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought.

A lot of fans of Kanye’s have been left disappointed that the same rapper who once claimed “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” after Hurricane Katrina is the now the one who’s showing love to an openly racist person like Donald Trump. And those fans include some of his peers as well. As Wednesday’s tweet-storm from ‘Ye continued, some fans noted that Kanye had lost close to 9 million followers on the social media site within a span of half an hour or so, the follower count going down from 27.8 million to about 18 million.
And among those were certain celebrities too. However, the big drop in the follower count ended up being a false alarm as Twitter later issued a statement saying that the number will be fixed soon. A Twitter spokesperson confirmed that Kanye’s account holds strong at 27.8 million followers and that “any fluctuation that people might be seeing is an inconsistency and should be resolved soon.”
But some big names actually unfollowing Kanye was not glitch afterall. We did some research and found out that artists like Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott (who is closely associated with Kanye/G.O.O.D. Music), Nicki Minaj, Pusha T (G.O.O.D. Music president), 2 Chainz, Justin Bieber, Rihanna and even Kim’s sisters Kylie Jenner & Khloe Kardashian — all unfollowed Kanye on Twitter within Wednesday. Big Sean, who is also signed to Kanye’s label G.O.O.D. Music, stopped following him on April 23rd.
Below is a brief list of artists and celebrities who are not following ‘Ye anymore on Twitter, along with the date when they took the action.
