This will probably hold true not next week but on November 24th after a week’s release of the physical copies of Before I Self Destruct.
The story goes like this: The album was released exclusively to iTunes on November 9th after it leaked pre-maturely on the internet. Since then, it has held on to the No.1 spot on the overall album chart on the site. But SoundScan/Billboard has decided not to chart the digital sales alone of the album in their issue on November 17th. Instead, it will combine 2 weeks of digital download sales plus a week of physical CD sales and chart it on their November 24th issue.
Billboard took a similar step earlier this year with Gun N Roses’ Chinese Democracy album.
Start guessing the numbers.
