Every once in a while, Drake will come up with some quotes that will surprise us.
19-year-old Nick Kyrgios made a big name for himself by beating Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon last week. But at his post match interview after his match against Jiri Vesely in the third round, he joked about Drake’s music being responsible for his slow start:
“Today was a bit of rap, actually. I came out really flat, so hopefully I won’t listen to that again. It was actually Drake. Yeah. Didn’t do the job for me.”
But Drizzy hasn’t taken kindly to the comments. During a conference call with reporters last week ahead of hosting The ESPYS, Drake hit out at Nick, saying he wants to “chop him right down” (via Reuters):
“I also want to meet this guy that says that he lost because he listened to my music. I also want to meet that guy and look him in the eye and see exactly who he is as a man and size him up and then chop him right down. Nick whatever-his-name-is – because he didn’t win, so that’s how he’s going to be remembered: Nick whatever-his-name-is.”
Nick was then quick to respond back to the Toronto superstar on his Twitter:
Let's be clear. I like @Drake – love his music, just said I was a little flat, ended up winning that match. No blame game here.
