April 13th saw the release of Tyler, The Creator’s third album and last Friday, Young Thug released his album (which he’s calling a mixtape) Barter 6.
Tyler, The Creator had a respectable first week considering he had little promotion and announced the date with short notice. His LP Cherry Bomb managed to sell 48,776 copies first week (56,172 including streams).
Young Thug didn’t do so great. 16,732 copies of Barter 6 were bought first week (18,714 if we count streams). I think it’s safe to say that when Tha Carter V is eventually released, it’ll do a little better.
